A young man with bright red hair, dressed in a green jacket and jeans slowly and carefully opened the door and edged inside. After closing the door as silently as he could, he glanced around.
The room was dark except with an eerily blue glow. Stepping closer into the room he saw glass covering the wall in front of him. Behind the glass was an aquatic world. Green seaweed flowed like green tentacles and fish darted between bits of bright and colorful coral.
He brushed his hand against the glass, feeling the smooth, cold surface. Something moved in the water, swimming up to the glass. He looked closer and smiled warmly when he recognized what
Jet walked calmly through the vanishing black portal and appeared in a darken room. He shivered as a blast of cold air raked his body, causing the animal skin flap to whip around with a snap. Jet looked down and saw Aang sitting cross- legged on the floor, eyes closed and breathing loud and deep.
Jet smiled and knelt down, meeting Aang's eyes.
"Still trapped, I see. Don't worry, Aang. I'll take good care of Katara while you're gone. That is, if you ever come back!" Jet whispered quietly to the motionless Aang, laughing to himself.
A ray of sunlight fell on both of them, causing Jet to turn away from the open doorway; wincing from the harsh
Aang took one last look at Katara and closed his eyes. Focusing on his connection with the Spirit World, he felt his spirit leaving his body behind and he was sent quickly to a huge circular room filled with stone statues.
With a flash of recognition, Aang looked around the room, seeing all his past lives standing solidly in a spiral pattern on multiple balconies above him and the floor he was standing on.
Suddenly a spirit walked out of the statue of Roku, smiling lightly at Aang. Roku put a hand on Aang's shoulder and said, "I'm glad you came so quickly Aang. I apologize for interrupting your wedding plans but I need you here. There is so
Aang wake up with a sudden shock back to reality. Aang shook his head, trying to remember his dream. He knew Roku was there telling him what? He said something about a disturbance in the Spirit World and that he need to be there to find out what it was.
Aang's heart grew heavy. This could mess up his plans for his marriage. Aang sighed and changed, wondering what he was going to tell Katara.
Aang looked out the fluttering animal skin covering the doorway, seeing Katara coming into the igloo. Aang light up when he say her, forgetting his worries. He quickly wrapped his arms around her and kissed her lightly.

Jet walked out of the room with a calm demeanor that even surprised him. Shocking Iroh and Zuko out of their seats, Jet sat down at the table.
Zuko shuddered at Jet's sudden appearance, still standing, and said, "Jet! We, uh, thought you were asleep. How much did you, uh, hear?"
Jet raised his hand to silence Zuko and spoke slowly and determinedly, saying, "I need to see the Gaang, especially Katara. Do you know where I can find them?"
Iroh hesitated, sensing something standing near Jet. That blue mask shimmered in the air for second before it disappeared. Jet was in grave danger if a spirit was following him around. Iroh sat back down pon
Breathing deeply, she took in the moment. The sunlight blazed across her back, warm and welcoming. The wind rippled the grass, creating waves in the green blades. The smell of salt was tangible in the air. Seagulls called to one another as they fluttered past. Waves crashed against the rocks below the rugged cliff. It was so peaceful, so beautiful.
A boy stood before her, talking happily. His clothes whipped around in the wind. A look of delight light up his face. The girl laughed, chatting back at him with excitement.
She frowned, feeling something has changed. Suddenly, the wind didn't seem so friendly, the sun too harsh and hot. The sea
Lily shifted and rolled around in her four poster bed, unable to sleep a wink. She could hear the deep breathing of her fellow students and the ticking of the clock by her bed. The hours dragged on endlessly, frustrating Lily to no end. She couldn't wait in till midnight came around. She wanted to see James.
There was such a yearning in her heart she never felt before. It made her chest ache and her body to shiver with excitement and nerves. There was no spare room in her head then to think about anyone but James.
When midnight finally came around, Lily was already out of bed and heading into the Gryffindor common room. She tried to quietly
A strong and noble warrior,

dripping of ruby blood.
A shadow of darkness enters his mind,

A daily dangerous battle fought,
for those angles of light.
An unholy demon turns and flees,
in the presence of him.
An archangel, Michael,

A loyal duty to his God,
calls him on this quest.
A way to protect his family,
with undying devotion.
A man like him is viewed proudly,
in the eyes of many.
A truth, there are falters and stumbles,
he falls to the unforgiving earth.
A girl rushes to his side,

Lily sat at a table in the Gryffindor common room, ruffling through the pages of a large book. The words on the page blurred before her as she unfocused her eyes, bored of studying. A hand held up her head, which was slowly slipping, causing her head to fall forward. Lily's eyes lids were drooping and she mentally snapped herself awake. Lily slouched in her chair, pushing her book away from her and crossed her arms across her chest in irritation.
She sighed, annoyed with herself. Though her N.E.W.T.S were months away, Lily should be using this time to study while she still had the chance.

Hermione panted as she ran down the corridor, heading towards the entrance hall. Her bag slowed her down, extremely heavy due to all the books she was carrying. She fumbled with the strap on her shoulder, desperately trying to adjust it while simultaneously looking ahead of her. She narrowly slammed into Filch as he walked past her, murmuring excitedly under his breath. She was surprised that she could hear his muttering at all when shouts erupted, coming from the end of the corridor. She took a furtive look behind her shoulder, seeing Filch enter Umbridge's office.
Her face glowed red and her feet grew sore when she finally made it to her

The Fairy Tale, A Lifelong Resonance
A thousand years tradition of scaring children at bedtime continues for children of all ages. News of the discovery of 500 “new” fairy tales collected over 150 years ago [link] in Germany and locked away in a forgotten archive has me thinking about the enduring importance of these narrative treasures in the lives of human societies worldwide. My worry, have fairy tales been marginalized by modernism?
