An Unknown Destiny part 4

After the talk with Iroh, Aang flew back to the house, wanting to talk to Katara as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, at the house, Katara and Zuko sat side by side waiting for Aang to come back.

"Shouldn't we go looking for Aang?" asked Zuko.

"No, you can't travel in this state. He will come back. He always comes back," said Katara.

Just then, Aang walked through the doors. "Aang, you're alright!" Katara exclaimed, almost crying in relief. But Aang wasn't listening. His eyes fell on Zuko and his veins pumped with anger like poison.

"What's wrong with Aang," Zuko whispered to Katara, "He is looking at me funny."

"I don't know. There is something off about him," Katara whispered back.

"How dare you kiss Katara!" yelled Aang, pointing his staff at Zuko. His eyes were blazing. Aang was beyond reason. Zuko looked shocked. He put his hands up and backed away.

"Aang, I don't want to fight you," said Zuko calmly.

Aang shot an ice ball at him. It missed Zuko by an inch. It smashed into the wall.

"Aang, I can explain!" yelled Zuko in desperation, trying to reason with him. 'I can't fight him,' he thought,' I'm too injured as it is and he's my friend!'

A slash of air glazed Zuko on the right shoulder and Zuko fell on his back. Zuko grunted in pain. Katara went in front of Zuko and blocked him from Aang's view.

"If you're going to hurt him you have to go through me!" yelled Katara. Aang paused. That's all the time Katara needed. She hit Aang with some water and he stumbled.

"Aang you're coming with me," said Katara angrily, grabbing him by the ear," And Zuko, wait here. I'll be right back to heal you."

"No problem," said Zuko, still lying on the ground,"I'm not going anywhere anytime soon."

Aang struggled against her grip, trying to get back at Zuko.

"Aang! What the hell do you think you were doing?" yelled Katara, after they were a safe distance from Zuko.

"I'm sorry," murmured Aang.

"Sorry?! That's all you're going to say?! Zuko is injured and you freaking attacked him!" yelled Katara.

"Well at least I don't kiss my friends behind peoples' back!" Aang yelled back. Katara stood there, trying to figure out what to say.

"I'm going to sleep so I don't have to see you betraying me for at least a few hours," said Aang angrily.  Katara's anger flared up and she bloodbended Aang still so he won't walk away from her.

"Katara, you know that won't work. I'm a waterbender, too. But since you want me to stay so bad, I will," sighed Aang, annoyed, angry, and hurt.

"Now look here, Aang. You have no right to walk away from me like that. I'm going to tell you what really happened and you are going to listen," Katara said angrily, "I kissed Zuko so he would stop trying to hurt him and everyone else."

"Ha-ha! Yeah, right! You could have knocked him or freeze him! Instead you had to make out with him!" yelled Aang.

"So you wanted me to hurt Zuko even more?!" Katara yelled back.

"YOU HURT ME! You hurt me…!" screeched Aang. He sat down and put his head in his hands and sobbed.

"Oh, oh, Aang. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you-," she said but Aang cut her off.

"Do you love him?" he asked fearing the answer, looking into her eyes.

"I don't," she said perhaps too quickly. 'I can't tell him the truth. I can't hurt him. I love Aang. I don't even know what my true feelings to Zuko are,' she thought.

Aang sighed with relief. "Ok Katara. Let's go heal Zuko again and go to bed. I'm exhausted," said Aang getting up with a yawn, wiping his eyes.

'Ok, Aang," said Katara.

"I love you, Katara, with all my heart," said Aang, kissing her lightly on the lips.

"I love you, too Aang," said Katara, kissing him back, but feeling so torn up inside.
